核心畫面

Start with something that cannot yet be seen or heard directly: a design, a piece of music on paper, a text in another language, a model made of numbers. Someone works it into a form other people can take in, and hands that form over. What they hand over is a rendering. Because the work goes through a person or a machine, the same source can produce many renderings, each one different. The -ing ending lets the word point at the working as well as at the thing that comes out of it.

noun · C1

One person's or one group's way of performing a song, a piece of music or a part in a play: their own version of it, as it came out that time.

做成另一套說法

做出來的東西這次是文字。原文你看不懂,或者事情你沒在現場,要有人把它換成你接得住的說法,你才拿得到內容。

noun · C1

The way words, a text or an event have been put into other words: a translation into another language, an explanation of an expression, or an account of what happened.

譯法/說法

抹在外牆上的那一層

這一條跟上面的畫面接得比較鬆。勉強接的話,它也是「做出一個表面交出來」:水泥抹上去,牆就多了一層看得到、摸得到的殼。但這裡的證據沒有說明它跟其他意思在歷史上是不是同一條路,所以當成另外一項記比較安全。

noun · C1

A mixture of cement and sand spread over the outside walls of a building to give a smooth, hard surface, and also the hard layer that it makes once it dries.

外牆水泥粉刷(層)
