A recital is a performance given in front of an audience, most often music or poetry, usually by one performer or a small group — a piano recital, a dance recital, a poetry recital. It has a slightly formal, polished feeling, often connected to students showing what they've learned (a piano student's end-of-year recital) or a professional musician's solo concert. Less commonly, "a recital of facts" means listing things out one by one in detail, often in a formal or legal setting.
