Wiktionary records two routes, both from stand. The adjective and the participle come from Middle English standynge / Old English standende, the present participle of standan, that is stand + -ing. The noun comes from Middle English standyng, from an Old English form *standung, also stand + -ing. So the two halves of this entry are the doing-form and the thing-form of the same verb.
