From Old French plaisir (enjoyment, delight, desire, will), from Latin placere (to please, be agreeable). From the start it carried two threads: the pleased feeling, and what one wishes — at one's pleasure meaning whenever one likes.

來自古法文 plaisir（愉悅、喜歡、意願），再上溯拉丁文 placere（使人滿意、討人喜歡）。這個字從一開始就帶著兩條線：一是「被取悅」的舒服感受，二是「你的意願」——at one's pleasure 就是「隨你高興、你想怎樣就怎樣」。
