Displeasure is the feeling of being or not satisfied with someone or something — the name of the feeling, not the person and not the thing. People show displeasure with a look, a cold voice, or a stiff letter; they may express their displeasure without ever raising it. It is a rather formal, slightly old-fashioned word: news, offices, and careful speech like it, because it sounds serious but controlled. It is cooler and weaker than anger or fury. You can someone's displeasure (make them feel this way) or hide your own. Though actually, everyday English often skips the noun and just says someone is not pleased — same truth, less starch.
