A way to picture it: enjoyment is what you get out of something good that is yours to have. Usually that is the warm feeling — you are eating the meal, hearing the music, and the pleasure is running through you while it happens. The formal sense keeps the having and lets the feeling fade into the background: you hold a right or good health, and you are free to use it.
