核心畫面

One way to hold this word: something was shut in, and then it gives way. A pipe cracks, a lid lifts, a person finally opens their mouth — and it all comes out at once, big and fast and hard to stop. The word even sounds like it. Whatever is pouring can change: water, steam, praise, held-back worry. The burst never changes.

From Middle English guschen, perhaps from Middle Dutch guysen or Old Norse gusa, and ultimately imitative — the word copies the sound of liquid rushing out. Related to gust.
