核心畫面

One way to hold all of this together: somebody has already run the numbers. The oldest and plainest use is literal — a calculated total is a number that came out of the maths. From there the same idea is lifted off the page and put on actions and on people. If an act is calculated, the person ran the numbers before doing it. If a risk is calculated, the danger itself was counted. If a person is calculated, they run the numbers all the time. What changes from one use to the next is not the thinking, but how the speaker feels about it.
