核心畫面

Picture one hard, flat, baked piece in your hand — and then a whole wall or floor of them, laid edge to edge with thin lines between. A tile can be thought of as a small hard piece that is only half the idea: the other half is that it is one of many, repeated until a whole surface is covered and protected. That is why the word keeps showing up wherever a big surface is made out of small repeated units — a bathroom wall, a roof, and even the squares on a screen or a game board.
