A worker whose job is laying tiles — sticking them onto floors and walls, or fixing them onto a roof. It is a trade, like plumber or electrician: you hire a tiler, a tiler quotes you a price, a good tiler is booked out for months. British and Australian English use the word constantly, because it is a recognised trade there with its own apprenticeships. American English says it too, but 'tile setter' or 'tile installer' is at least as common there. In Taiwan you would say 貼磁磚的師傅, and 師傅 catches something the English word does not quite carry: the respect for hands-on skill. In older books you may meet 'tiler' with a capital T as an officer of a Masonic lodge — the one who guards the door. That is a separate, specialised use and not something you need.
