文字和說話的吃力
把同一個畫面搬到語言上:句子也會「喘」。讀者感覺到的是背後那股力氣,不是文字本身。
adjective · B2
Used about writing, speech or a joke that clearly took a lot of effort and still does not work — it feels heavy, slow and not natural.
(文字、說話)生硬的
Laboured can be thought of as effort that has become visible. Something that ought to run smoothly is not running smoothly, and you can tell from the outside — you hear it, you see it, nobody has to explain it to you. Breathing is where the picture is clearest: each breath is work, and the rhythm is heavy. Move the same picture to , to an engine, or to a page of writing, and the word goes with it.
