說法
Picture something inside a person — a thought, a feeling — being pressed out into a form other people can receive: words, a look, the way a note is played. Expression is that pressing-out, and it also names the form that comes out. Even the mathematical use fits: symbols are the form an idea about numbers takes on paper.
