核心畫面

One way to picture it: someone stands up in front of others and makes a thing clear out loud — what the situation is, what will happen, what is true. It was unclear or before; now it has been said openly, on the record.

From the word’s history

From Latin dēclārātiō, the noun of dēclārāre 'to make clear', built on clārus 'clear, bright' — the same root behind clear and clarify. A declaration is literally a making-clear.

來自拉丁文 dēclārātiō,動詞 dēclārāre「使之清楚」的名詞形,字根是 clārus「清楚的、明亮的」——跟 clear、clarify 同源。所以 declaration 字面上就是「把事情弄清楚、講明白」的那個動作或那份文件;現代三個用法都還踩在這個「公開講明白」的底盤上。
