幾何上:圓心不重合
這一支是字面義,也是這個字最原始的用法,核心畫面在這裡就是它本身,沒有任何比喻成分。
off-centre (geometry) · adjective · C2
Used about circles that do not have the same centre point.
離心的
A useful picture: something whose centre is not where the centre is supposed to be. Draw two circles that should share one middle point — but one of them sits slightly off. Nothing is broken; it simply turns around a different centre from everything around it.
From Ancient Greek ἐκ (ek, “out of”) + κέντρον (kéntron, “centre, the fixed point of a compass”) — literally “out of the centre”. The geometric meaning is the original one, and the description of people is the same picture applied to behaviour.

odd/unconventional · adjective · C2
