Picture something that pulls people towards it — the thing on the list that everyone wants. English uses the same adjective for two very different kinds of pull: the cool, kind (this would be a good outcome, this flat is in a good area) and the personal, romantic kind. Which one a reader hears depends almost entirely on what the word is describing.
