Somebody out there wants you. That is the whole word. What changes from one use to the next is only who is doing the wanting, and what they will do when they find you: the police want to catch you, an employer wants to hire you, a family wants you at the table.
want + -ed. The adjective is simply the past participle of want used to describe the person or thing being wanted.
wanted 來自 want 加上 -ed。這個形容詞其實就是 want 的過去分詞拿來描述「被想要的那一邊」。所以它的所有用法都只是同一句話的不同場合：有人想要這個人或這樣東西。
