From Middle French attractif, from Late Latin attractīvus; attract + -ive.

源自中古法文 attractif，就是 attract 加上 -ive。

Picture something that pulls you towards it without doing anything — you look, and you want to keep looking, or to move closer. Attractive is always about that pull felt from the outside: not what the thing is like inside, but the effect it has on the person looking at it.

可以想成：有個東西不用出聲、不用動作，就把你往它那邊拉過去——你看了一眼，就想再多看一眼，或想靠近一點。attractive 講的一直是這股「拉力」，而且是從外面的人身上感覺到的：重點不在那個東西本身怎麼樣，而在它對看的人產生了什麼效果。
