光與熱往外送
這一支離核心畫面最近,幾乎就是畫面本身:有一個熱源或光源,能量往四周去。
verb · B2
If something radiates light or heat, or if light or heat radiates from something, the light or heat is sent out from it into the space all around, in every direction.
發出、散發(光或熱)
One centre, and something going out from it in every direction at once. Stand in front of a hot stove in a cold room: the heat does not travel in a single line towards you, it fills the space all around. Or look at a bicycle wheel: every spoke starts at the middle and runs . Whatever radiate is talking about — heat, light, cracks in glass, streets on a map, or the confidence coming off a person — that same picture can be held underneath it: a middle point, and the thing spreading out from it on all sides.
Wiktionary records radiate as a learned borrowing from Latin radiātus, from radius 'a spoke, a ray'. The spoke of a wheel is literally a line running out from a hub, which sits very close to the picture the modern word still carries.
Wiktionary 記載 radiate 借自拉丁文 radiātus,來自 radius「輻條、光線」。輻條本來就是一根從輪心往外走的線,這跟今天 radiate 仍然帶著的畫面幾乎重疊。

線條從中心分出去
同樣的中心往外,只是這次散出去的不是能量,而是看得見的線條與方向。
verb · C1
If lines, cracks, roads or other things radiate from a place, they spread out from that one point in different directions, like the spokes of a wheel.
呈放射狀展開
人身上透出來的感覺
把發熱的那個中心換成一個人,往外走的東西換成情緒,整張圖就直接搬過來用了。
