    A radiator has two common, very different jobs, so check the context. In a house in a cold country, a radiator is a metal object, often under a window, that heats the room using hot water or steam running through it. In a car, the radiator is a part of the engine that keeps it from overheating, by cooling down hot water that has absorbed heat from the engine.
