You can picture 'move' as the simplest thing a body can do: it leaves where it was and ends up somewhere else — a hand lifts, a car rolls forward, a chess piece slides to a new square. Hold that one picture of 'change place / position', and the whole word opens up: move your home, move your opinion, move a meeting to Friday, move someone to tears — every sense is some kind of leaving-here-and-arriving-there, whether the thing that travels is your body, your mind, your situation, or your feelings.
