Picture taking something and pushing it down to the smallest it can be. Sometimes you shrink the thing itself — the risk, the cost, the damage. Sometimes you only shrink how big it looks to other people, while the thing stays exactly as it was. And on a screen, you shrink the window without closing it. Same move, three different targets.
