Not important. Something unimportant has little or no effect on what happens, so people do not need to worry about it or spend much time on it.
unimportant 可以想成 important 前面裝了一個開關 un-，把「重要」整個關掉，剩下「不重要」。它是這一家人裡最中性、最不帶情緒的說法，只是講「這件事影響不大」，沒有嫌棄的意思；旁邊幾個字各有味道：minor 是「小、影響有限」，trivial 是「瑣碎到不值得花時間」，insignificant 是「跟別的一比就小得看不見」。日常說話多半直接講 not important，unimportant 比較常出現在寫作或整理重點的句子裡，像 unimportant details。

Picture a pile of things you have to deal with, and you are sorting them. The unimportant ones go to the bottom: if you never get to them, nothing much changes. That is the whole word — not small, not bad, just carrying little weight in what finally happens.
