心裡的缺口被填上
最常見的一組:你想要的和你得到的對上了,那口氣就落地。
adjective · B1
Making you feel pleased and content, especially because something has turned out the way you wanted, or because your effort has produced a result you can see.
令人滿足的
A gap being filled exactly — enough, and nothing more needed. The Latin behind the word is satis, enough.
Wiktionary gives satisfying as satisfy plus -ing, and traces satisfy back through Middle English and Old French to Latin satisfacere. Latin satis means enough, so the old picture is close to doing enough.
Wiktionary 記的是 satisfy 加 -ing,而 satisfy 經由中古英文、古法文追到拉丁文 satisfacere。拉丁文的 satis 是「足夠」,所以這個字最早的畫面接近「做到夠」。這也解釋了為什麼它的各種用法都繞著「剛剛好、不必再要了」轉。
