If something is done satisfactorily, it is done well enough: it meets the need, passes the test, does the job. A repair can work satisfactorily; an answer can be explained satisfactorily. It does not mean wonderful. It often sounds a little cool and official, like a teacher or a report: “The work was completed satisfactorily.” Though actually, students sometimes reach for this word when they mean in a satisfying way — that warm feeling of pleasure. Those are different. Satisfactorily is about the standard. Satisfyingly is about the feeling. You can finish a task satisfactorily and still not enjoy it at all.
