in- 'not' + accuracy, which goes back to Latin accūrātus 'done with care' (ad- 'to' + cūra 'care'). So the word points at a lack of care in getting things exactly right, rather than at dishonesty.
拆開是 in-（不）＋ accuracy，而 accuracy 追回拉丁文 accūrātus（用心做出來的）：ad-（朝向）＋ cūra（照料、用心）——cūra 也是 cure、curious 的老祖宗。所以這個字的底層是「沒有夠仔細」，而不是「不誠實」。這解釋了它的語氣為什麼相對客氣：它指的是準頭不夠，不是人品有問題。
