If you do something inaccurately, you do it in a way that is not completely correct — the number, name, date, or picture does not match the facts. A height written inaccurately. A river drawn inaccurately on a map. A story told inaccurately, so the shape is there but one piece is off. It tells you how the action went. It is a little cooler and more careful than “wrongly”. Wrongly can mean the whole answer is a miss; inaccurately often means you were close, but not exact. Though actually, people also use it for any slip, not only tiny ones. You meet it in school, science, and news more than in chat. After a verb you almost always want this -ly form, not the adjective inaccurate.
