From Latin illūsiō, from illūdere 'to mock, to play a trick on' — in- 'at, upon' plus lūdere 'to play'. The word literally names something playing with you, which is still exactly what an illusion does to the senses.
來自拉丁文 illūsiō，動詞是 illūdere（戲弄、耍弄）：in-（對著）＋ lūdere（玩）。字面就是「拿你來玩」。這個「被戲弄」的畫面到今天都還在——不管是眼睛被光線耍了，還是一個人被自己的想像耍了，illusion 說的都是「有東西在跟你玩」，而你當下並不知道。
