照身體剪裁的衣物
對上的是人的身體:布料順著肩、腰、手臂的線走,沒有多出來的地方。
adjective · B1
Fitted clothes are cut and sewn to follow the shape of a person's body closely, instead of hanging loose around it.
合身的/修身的
Two things are put together and there is nothing loose left over: no folds of cloth hanging off the body, no gap between the and the wall, no wobble where the part sits in the machine. 'Fitted' says that one of them was shaped on purpose so that it would match the other exactly. That is why the word almost always points backwards to work someone did — the jacket was cut that way, the wardrobe was built that way, the alarm was put in that way. When the two things being matched are a person and a job, the same picture still holds: their skills line up with what the work needs.
