讓一樣東西徹底不再是它自己
核心那一面:對象是物、是地方,也可以是抽象的東西。
ruin completely · verb · B1
To ruin something completely, leaving it gone or too broken to repair.
摧毀 / 破壞
Picture something that was whole and working, and then is not — a building after a fire, a bridge after a flood. Not damaged, not broken and mendable: gone as the thing it was. That completeness is what makes the word so strong, and it is why English can swing it at a person's confidence, or at a rival team, and be heard.
