You can picture a round disc spinning on an — turning round and round so a thing can roll or move. That turning circle is the heart of 'wheel': from the wheels under a car to anything that spins, steers, drives a machine, or moves in a circle. Even life 'turning' and a body 'wheeling around' come from that one round, rolling motion.
