Picture pushing off the ground and springing high into the air, your whole body flying a long way before you land somewhere new. That powerful, sudden spring is the heart of leap. Every other use is this jump moved off the ground: a number that springs up sharply, a mind that vaults across a gap between ideas, a decision you make by yourself forward without knowing where you'll land.
