不讓人參與或進入
被留在圈外的是人:他想加入、想進去,卻被擋下來。
shut out · verb · B2
To stop someone from joining an activity or from going into a place, often in a way that feels unfair.
把…排除在外;不讓…參加
Picture a circle drawn around what counts, and something deliberately left outside it — off the list, out of the price, out of the room. Exclude is that leaving-out, and it is always a decision someone made. Leave a person outside and it stings; leave a possibility outside and you have ruled it out.
