broker a deal · verb · B2
To arrange the details of a deal or agreement so that all sides accept it.
One way to hold it: the person standing between two sides who never owns the goods. Buyer on one side, seller on the other; the broker carries the offer across, matches the two, and takes a cut. Move that middle position from a trading floor to a negotiating table and the same word becomes a verb.
