    Not noticing something or not knowing that something is happening, even though it is happening around you or to you.

    unaware 是 aware 的反面：事情確實在發生，只是你沒收到、沒注意到。可以想成 aware 是「雷達開著、有收到訊號」，unaware 就像那件事沒進到你的雷達裡。後面最常接兩種東西：unaware of + 名詞（沒察覺到某個東西），unaware that + 一整句（不知道某件事正在發生）。還有一個位置要記：unaware 放在 be、seem、remain 這類動詞後面，不放在名詞前面（說 She was unaware，不說 an unaware girl）。

You can picture someone walking on with headphones in while something is happening right behind them: the thing is real and it is close, but it has not reached them at all. Unaware points at that gap between what is going on and what the person has taken in.

可以想成一個戴著耳機往前走的人，身後正在發生一件事：事情是真的、就在旁邊，但完全沒有進到他的知覺裡。unaware 指的就是「事情在發生」和「這個人接收到了沒有」之間的那道落差。
