From trash, probably via a dialect form from Old Norse tros 'rubbish, fallen twigs'.
trash 加 -ed；trash 可能源自古諾斯語 tros「垃圾、落葉」。
You can think of trashed as the state something is in once it has been knocked about until it belongs in the bin. Not , not dirty, not fixable - finished. Say it about a tent, a pair of shoes or a room and you mean the thing has nothing left to give. Say it about a person who has been drinking and the same picture is doing the work: they have been pushed past the point where they can stand up straight or finish a sentence.
trashed 可以想成一樣東西被弄到只能進垃圾桶的那個狀態。不是刮到、不是髒了、也不是修一修就好，而是整個沒救了。用在帳篷、鞋子、房間上，意思就是它已經沒有東西可以再撐了。用在一個喝了很多酒的人身上，借的是同一個畫面：這個人被推過那條線，站不穩，話也講不完整。
