核心畫面

One way to picture this word: take a whole thing and cut it apart — a cake into slices, a city into districts, a report into chapters. Each piece you end up with is a 'section', and the act of making those cuts is to 'section'. The word keeps a second, sharper picture inside it too: when you actually slice straight through a solid object, the flat cut face you expose — what the inside looks like at that cut — is also called a section (a cross-section, a slice under a microscope, a surgical cut).
