You can picture a baby goat — a young, small, not-yet-grown animal. That oldest, most concrete picture quietly branches two ways: 'young one' (a goat kid → a human child → anything small or easy), and, much later and more loosely, the playful teasing of 'kidding'. So hold the image of the little young creature as the loose anchor, and let each branch carry its own picture.
