noun · B2
A drawing of a building as if you were looking straight down at its ground level, showing the size, shape and position of the walls and the rooms.
平面圖
Think of the sheet of paper that comes before the building: the ground level drawn flat, with the walls, the rooms and the doors already fixed in place. Nothing has been put up yet, and there is no height on the page at all. Everything that gets built later has to grow out of what is on that sheet. That is the flavour the words keep everywhere else: the lowest, earliest layout that later work follows.

紙上的那張圖被搬離開工地,但它的角色沒變:最早訂下來、後面所有東西都照著長的那一層。這是概念上的延伸,不是說這兩個意思有先後的歷史關係。
noun · C1
