心裡的高興
這一家是 glad 的活義、現代人天天在用的:心裡那份欣喜,以及它的兩個近親——慶幸、樂意。
happy/pleased · adjective · A2
Feeling happy and pleased about something that has happened or is true.
高興 / 開心
Picture the warm little lift inside you when something good happens — a quiet brightening of the heart. That bright, pleased feeling is the core; from it grow gratitude, willingness to help, and a set of old phrases where 'glad' just means 'bright / good / cheerful' (glad , glad rags).
From Old English 'glæd' = bright, shining, cheerful — the original sense was literally 'shining', which is why several frozen phrases keep the older 'bright/good' flavour rather than today's 'pleased'.
源自古英語 glæd,意思是「明亮的、發光的、開朗的」——本義其實是「發亮」,這正是為什麼有幾個固定老片語還留著舊的「明亮/喜氣」味,而不是今天的「高興」。
