opinion-based (editorial) · adjective · B2
Connected with the opinions a newspaper itself states, rather than the facts it reports.
The word hangs on one person: the editor, who decides what goes in and how it reads. Point at that work and you get 'editorial' the adjective; point at the opinion that same office holds and you get the newspaper's own voice; print that voice as a piece of writing and you get 'an editorial'.
