a warm cover for a bed, made of a big cloth bag filled with feathers or something soft like them, that you sleep under.
「duvet」可以想成「一個大布袋，裡面塞滿羽毛或類似的軟填充物」——重點在「裡面有東西」，所以它蓬蓬的、很輕又很保暖。這一點就是 duvet 跟 blanket 最大的差別：blanket 是毯子，只有一層布，沒有填充；duvet 是被子，鼓鼓的一大包。英國人說 duvet，美國人同樣的東西多半說 comforter；外面套的那層可以拆下來洗的布叫 duvet cover（被套）。
