You can picture something being moved forward and upward by someone else's hand — a name lifted one rung up the company chart, a team lifted into a better league, a product pushed to the front of the shelf where everybody sees it. English uses one word for both directions because the gesture is the same: you do not rise on your own here, somebody moves you.

推的方向是向上：從一層被移到更高的一層，位置變好、責任變大。人和球隊都適用，動作完全一樣。

把東西往前推給大家

推的方向從「向上」轉成「向前、向外」：不是把它抬高一級，而是把它推到人前面，讓更多人看見、接受、支持。中文的「推廣」「促銷」「促進」剛好也都用「推」這個字，對得很整齊。
