Start with a brush of glue and a poster. The glue goes on the back, the poster goes against the wall, and a hand presses it flat so it stays. That pressing of one thing onto another surface is the picture to hold. It explains the screen: copied words are pressed into a new place in the document and they stay there. It also explains why the same hand movement, done hard and often, ended up describing a hiding.
