落在人身上的一頓打
這一支是字面本身:重複的是拳頭,承受的是人。也是整個字最重、最嚴肅的用法。
noun · B1
An act of hitting a person or an animal many times, as a punishment or in a fight. It is countable: you give someone a beating, or someone gets a beating.
毆打/一頓打
One way to hold this word: not one blow, but blow after blow after blow. The -ing takes the repeating and wraps it into a thing you can name. What changes across the word is only what is repeating and who feels it. Fists on a person, and the word is an event you can count: a beating. Goals going in one after another, and the losing side says it took a beating, without anyone being touched. A heart, wings, rain on a roof, and the on-and-on is all that is left: the beating of the drums.
Built from the verb beat plus -ing, which turns the repeated action into something you can name.
由動詞 beat 加上 -ing 組成,把重複的動作變成一個可以指稱的東西。這也是為什麼三個用法都還留著「一下接一下」的味道。

輸得像挨了一頓打
把挨打的畫面整個借走:被打得站不起來的樣子,拿來講輸得很慘。動作沒發生,只剩那個「被打重了」的感覺。
noun · B2
If a person or a team takes a beating, they lose very badly in a game or competition. People also say that a business, a plan or a price took a beating when events hurt it badly.

一下一下的跳動與拍打
