- 1n/ˈnɑːtsi/Nazi (Hitler's party or German side)
A member of the National Socialist party led by Adolf Hitler, which ruled Germany from 1933 to 1945. In everyday talk about that war, the word is often used more loosely for people on the German side, not only for party members.

An insulting name for someone who uses power over other people in a very harsh, strict way, or who forces their own rules on everybody. Often used with a subject in front, as in 'grammar Nazi'.
