From Middle French gorgias 'elegant', from Old French gorgias, of uncertain origin, apparently connected with gorge 'throat, bosom'.
源自古法文 gorgias「華麗的」，有一說和 gorge「喉嚨、胸口」有關。
Something so beautiful it makes you stop and stare—beauty that lands almost physically, like a flood of warmth and pleasure when you look at it. The original picture is a splendid, sight; the word always carries that punch of delight, never plain 'nice-looking'.
可以想成美到讓你停下來、忍不住多看一眼的那種畫面——美得幾乎有重量，看著它時心裡會湧上一股暖暖的、被取悅的感覺。這個字最早的畫面比較像「華麗、燦爛、亮眼」的景象，所以它一向帶著一股強烈的喜悅，不只是「還算好看」而已。
