打鼓(聲)
Hold one sound in your ear: many quick hits in a row on a surface, evenly spaced, and not stopping. A hand on a drum skin does it on purpose. Rain on a metal roof does it by accident. Because the ear cannot tell the two apart, English lets one word cover both — the drum being played, and anything else that arrives as that same run of beats.
