From Middle English deply, from Old English dēoplīċe 'deeply'; deep + -ly.

源自古英文 dēoplīċe「深深地」，就是 deep 加 -ly。

Think of it as measuring how far in something goes from the surface: a knife that goes deeply into the wood, roots that reach deeply into the soil. Everything else `deeply` does is that same measurement moved off physical space and onto feeling, thought, breath, or sleep — not how wide or how loud, but how far down.

可以想成一把量「從表面往裡面走了多遠」的尺：刀子深深切進木頭、樹根深深扎進土裡。deeply 其他的用法都是把這把尺從實體空間搬到感情、思考、呼吸、睡眠上——它測的不是範圍多大、聲音多響，而是往下走了多深。
