Start from something standard — the same jacket, the same car, the same app screen that everyone else gets. Now picture someone taking that standard thing and reshaping it around one particular person: the sleeves to this arm, the seats set for this driver, the buttons moved to where this user's thumb lands. The English word carries the idea of a customer inside it: the thing is being remade to that one customer's order, instead of being made once for everybody. So the result is both a better fit and a different object from the one on the shelf.
