talkative · adjective · C1
Liking to talk a lot in a friendly, easy way. You can also say someone is in a chatty mood when they feel like talking.
健談
Picture easy, talk with no agenda — two people chatting over tea, one thing leading to another. Chatty is that relaxed talking mood, whether it comes out of a mouth or off a page.
From chat + -y. Chat is a clipping of Middle English chateren 'to chatter', an imitative word — it copies the sound of quick, light talk.
